Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood confirmed; more next week

The third entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, not necessarily Assassin’s Creed 3, has been given a name. The reason why I say ‘not necessarily Assassin’s Creed 3’ is because this game releases just one year after Assassin’s Creed 2, will be based in Rome (underdeveloped in the second game) and star Ezio.

We had predicted that the third Assassin’s Creed game would appear at E3, and with place-holder art now released, that prediction appears to be spot on. Gamestop’s place-holder box-art, which has been confirmed accurate by Ubisoft, titles the game ‘Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood’. This matches a recent website registration for AssassinsCreedBrotherhood.com.

With art sporting Ezio surrounded by other Assassin’s, its clear that our previous mentions of multiplayer are also accurate. Descriptions on the back read as follows:

“Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy. Rome.

“And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style. A never-before-seen online multiplayer experience. Lead your own brotherhood of assassins, as Ezio, and conquer Rome.”

So by the looks of it, the game’s multiplayer will centre around co-operative play among a group of assassins. Ubisoft has told Kotaku that we’ll find out more next week, and we’ll certainly see more at next month’s E3. So stay put.

MMMm Multiplayer aspects mmmmm, Assasin’s creed 2 was very good but it didn’t have that much of a re playability , soo with new Multiplayer as well as Co-op maybe, then it’ll be worth a $60 purchase XD

  5. Sounds interesting…but this MP sounds like it will either win or fail. Hopefully win, not like Bioshock 2’s MP

  6. hmmm the multiplayer sounds interesting…but of course AC in general doesnt really interest me lol
