Rumors about a $99 special edition for the upcoming Batman: Arkham City turned out to be true, as Warner Bros. have lifted the lid on a Collector’s Edition that will spring mighty Bat-Boners everywhere.
Unlike Arkham Asylum’s abysmal CE offering, this promises to be worth the extra 40 bucks. Included with the game will be a Batman statue designed by the Japanese toy company Kotobukiya, a copy of the DC Animation film Batman: Gothic Knight, your standard art book, early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map, a Dark Knight Returns skin (based on the classic Frank Miller graphic novel), an Arkham City album featuring original music by popular artists, and four collectible cards.
As a massive Batman fan, this excites the crap out of me. The statue is obviously the centerpiece here, but I’m also excited to play as Frank Miller’s version of The World’s Greatest Detective, and the movie a great touch.
WB says that quantities are limited, but I stopped believing publishers that said that when I was tripping over Halo: Reach Legendary Editions last fall. The game is due out on October 18th of this year, so get to preordering, if that’s your thing.
