DICE: Medal of Honor’s multiplayer stands alone

Developer DICE recently had its latest creation hit store shelves in the form of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. However, the developer is also working on the multiplayer component for EA’s upcoming title, Medal of Honor. As many of you know, Medal of Honor features a new spin on the series as the design team is bringing the storied franchise into the modern warfare scene.

Today, producer Gordon Van Dyke assured gamers that you can expect an entirely different multiplayer experience with Medal of Honor compared to BF:BC2. Despite the same team working on both products, Van Dyke insists that Medal of Honor’s online component will be its own.

“No. Absolutely not … people shouldn’t expect a clone of Bad Company 2 for Medal of Honor’s multiplayer,” he said in a recent post-mortem. “It’s just like if you went and saw one action movie and then another one came out that year, you’re not gonna say, ‘Oh, I’m not going to go see that one.’ If it was the same director, maybe you’d want to go see that other one even more.”

“…Medal of Honor’s a cool franchise, it gives us the ability to express ourselves through multiplayer in a bit of a different way.”

This is probably for the best considering gamers aren’t going to be likely to shell out $60 for two similar titles within a close time frame. Thankfully, the development team behind the game is standing firm in delivering an experience that isn’t too close to any other in order to validate the purchase for the consumer.

Medal of honour seems like its gonna turn out really great then XD With a developer like DICE workking on the multiplayer aspects it would be definite that MoH gonna rock

  4. It wouldnt be a bad thing if it was very similar to battlefields multiplayer but it would be nice for a different experience. the game is looking great being ps3 lead platform and all and with dice doing the multiplayer im sure its going to be awesome

  6. I hope it is done completely different. I don’t really like BFBC 2 online. I don’t really like the shooting in BFBC. It just feels weird. Hopefully this game is tighter and feels much better.

Wait, was BFBC2 lead on PS3? I wasn’t sure, Because the 360 version of BFBC 2 has soo many glitches and what not. But like I said earlier, Since DIce is working on the Multiplayer for MoH its going to be a big, big plus in my books because I throughly enjoyed the first Bad Company as well as the second one.
