EA: Medal of Honor utilizes PS3 as lead platform

In one of the latest interviews regarding Electronic Arts’ upcoming title, Medal of Honor’s EALA Creative Director Richard Farrelly discusses the advantages of utilizing the PlayStation 3 as the lead development platform and reveals that PlayStation 3 owners can expect a maximized version of the product. Of course, that doesn’t mean other versions should expect to be inferior. Electronic Arts is aiming to provide the best experience possible on all platforms.

“We’re leading on PS3, we’ve developed the game on PS3.

“We’re working hard to deliver the exact same experience across all platforms. I think for me the most important thing is for everyone that plays Medal Of Honor is satisfied… I guess the benefit to the PS3 owner is that we’re leading on it, so we’ll maximise what that platform can do for our game.”

For those of you curious as to how great it’ll look on the PlayStation 3, feel free to check out our screenshot gallery. With the PS3 as the lead platform, it’s safe to say most, if not all, of these screenshots were taken from the PS3 version of the game.

  1. Seeing as this is the next FPS on my list it’s good to hear that the PS3 is the lead platform. No shitty port or compromised quality.

  2. Titlle is a little misleading but none the less its looking good.

  3. This is an example of how multiplats are suppose to be developed. Are you reading this, lazy developers? *cough* Bayonetta! Anyways this is going to be a launch day purchase for me, aslong their are no noob-friendly killstreaks like mw2.

  4. How’s the title misleading?

Good to hear, games are easier to port from PS3 to 360 apparently.

  5. @Thorzilla It has since been changed 🙂

  6. This game is sounding better all the time. and no crappy port. ps3 is the best for lead platform and all developers should realise this so they can make better multiplatform games.

  7. Just because PS3 is the “lead” platform doesn’t mean it will be up to the great graphics of KZ2, U2, etc. It just means thats what they started with. Look at Ghostbusters, and Bayonetta. I won’t believe it matters until I see it in the end. It would be nice if they wouldn’t worry so much about making games have the “same experience on both systems” and would just make the best game for EACH system. Utilize the CORE for the best gaming possible, not just to match the “other” console. C’mon guys! I’m finding myself buying the PS3 exclusive more and more because they use what the PS3 has, to the best of its abilities. I feel slightly let down by this article.

  8. This game is gonna be soooo awesome. I’ll probably buy it on PS3 since none of my 360 friends are gonna buy it.

  9. nice! come on EA, bring back the glory of the PS2 days! (MoH-wise)

GOOOODDD the developers are finally showing an initiative to make sure all versoins of a game are equal. First the Platnium Games decide to take Ps3 as lead now, its EA’s turn XD Now we won’t have the discussion of which version is superior and yatta yatta anymore.

  11. Great news, looking forward to this game, hopefully it will have a nice single player campaign.

  12. Nice. im definitely gonna have to pick this game up.

  13. from watching the frame by frame video of the trailer on gt you can really see how using the ps3 is making the game look fantastic. like for example how u kick doors in and how they react. also the big open environments and the stealth sections look really kwl. i bet a lot of things would be cut if it was lead on xbox
