Gears of War is one of those titles you commonly see PlayStation 3 owners bash. Simultaneously, it’s also one of those titles that many PS3 gamers wish they could get their hands on to see what all the hype is about. Epic Games didn’t shy away from honesty, saying that they too would love to see Gears of War in Blu-Ray on the PS3.
“Do we wish we could take all those Killzone and Resistance fans on PS3, and get them to say ‘Gears is awesome’? Yeah, sure I’d love to ship the Gears trilogy on PlayStation,” said president Mike Capps. “That would be fun. I want to be there; I want to be everywhere.”
Unfortunately, this can be nothing more than a mutual desire between the developers and gamers. At the end of the day, we all know that the gaming industry is about money, something Microsoft has been very good at using. “Time and time again, when it came down to figure out what we do next with Gears, we sat down with Microsoft and they’ve given us really good, compelling reasons to work with them again.” Whatever deal Epic Games is getting from Microsoft must be pretty sweet, but it does leave room for speculation for the future. Perhaps, in a year or two, developers like Epic will act on their desire and expand some of their bigger titles over to competitor consoles.

Gears will eventually end up on the PS3, it’s only a matter of time. When this happens it will be the end of the Xbox as the console wont have an exclusive games left to justify the console purchase.
