Fallout: New Vegas receives much needed patch

Bethesda released Fallout: New Vegas recently to an audience of gamers who wanted to do nothing more than explore a new deserted wasteland in hopes of finding riches, enemies to kill, and quests to fulfill. Unfortunately for those adventurers, Bethesda also released a product that was marred by bottle cap, freezing and other glitches that hindered gameplay.

Today, anyone who boots up Fallout: New Vegas will be prompted with the opportunity to download a patch for either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. This patch corrects the infinite bottle cap glitch, making the game much more enjoyable, and fixed a myriad of other problems that users have been experiencing. Thankfully, it looks as though this new patch also cuts back on the amount of times Fallout: New Vegas freezes on its user as well.

I’m glad that Bethesda worked as hard and as fast as they did to eliminate a lot of the glaring issues with F:NV, but I think a lot of this could have been avoided when you look at the developer’s previous release and notice similar issues as well. Regardless, F:NV is one of the best titles released this year and anyone who was holding out on purchasing it, should definitely start getting sucked into the void now and experience everything New Vegas has to offer.

  1. this is what online brought us
    unfinished games

  2. they should have done that before they released it but whatever….

  3. I’ll await the judgement of the community before I hail this patch as the solution to the freezing and glitching. If they give the green light I’ll buy the game… (at least one person in the official NV forum says it didn’t help much on that issue, but let’s wait for the others to chime in.)

  4. This probably won’t help, but what the hell… Might as well grab the patch.

  5. Bethesda do good work, so i forgive them with the problems of New Vegas and have faith that this patch corrects them 🙂

  6. Patch did not resolve my freeze. 30 hours into it I cannot exist casino without going to a black screen. Returning game tonight.

  7. You have to love when they stop people from getting inf xp or caps yet leave quest stopping, game breaking huge flaws.
