Now that the beloved Halo series has come to an end, many gamers have wondered: What’s next for Bungie? The developer has had some fun with this one, depriving gamers from the information they desperately desire. Now, it seems as though they’re just taunting their fans with their recent unveil.
Today, Bungie dropped the first confirmed detail regarding their next game. Note the lack of plural usage of “detail”. That’s right, Bungie is giving us one, and only one detail regarding their next game. Awhile back, there was much speculation and hope (mostly hope) that Bungie was working on a massive multiplayer online World of Warcraft in space title of some sort. Surprisingly enough, this recent detail does back that speculation… somewhat.
Bungie Lead Network Engineer David Aldridge was the one to drop the (very) small unveil, confirming that their next game would be a “massively multiplayer action game”. Unfortunately, Aldridge then switched subjects, leaving gamers to wonder what the game could possibly be. We’re not much better off than we started, but at least this confirms the speculation that Bungie is indeed working on an MMO. World of Warcraft in space? Probably not. Decide for yourself.
