The first review of God of War III is reportedly in from the UK’s Official PlayStation Magazine. Though the following score has yet to be confirmed by scans, the magazine’s March issue is rumoured to include the PlayStation 3 game’s first review.
Though you’d think it’s unlikely that a game that releases towards the middle of March would have a finished review already, magazines tend to get very near final products (played on debug consoles) weeks, or even months, before the final game has gone gold.
OPM UK is thus rumoured, on the infamous NeoGAF forums, to have scored God of War III a 9/10 with the following concluding comment:
The game is inches away from scoring 10/10, and it’s only the familiarity of the core gameplay that makes it feel less than the very, very best. But it’s definitely the biggest, and if this is the finale (and the corpes littering the stage by the end of the game suggest it might be), then God of War III gives PlayStation’s toughest hero the send-off he deserves.
Remember this a rumour for now, especially since the magazine’s February issue hasn’t long been on the shelves. However, OPM UK subscribers are reportedly being delivered their March issue already. Look forward to a new God of War III trailer later today (much later, tomorrow for many of you.) In the meantime enjoy this documentary video with the game’s most recent build.
[UPDATE] – The OPM UK review has been confirmed with the following scan.
We’ve included the full collection of review scans in our God of War III gallery.
