Recently, at The Tokyo Game Show 2009 Sony and Polyphony Digital (PD) announced that the highly anticipated racing simulator Gran Turismo 5 will hit stores in Japan sometime in March 2010. And while a release for the rest of the world has not been announced yet PD has dropped several hints on how GT5 will see a release.
Recently at a Press Release for GT5, The Father of Gran Turismo Kazunori Yamauchi went on record to say that the development time of Gran Turismo 6 will be significantly shorter than Gran Turismo 5. He also went on to say that The North American and European release will follow the Japanese launch shortly.
“I don’t think it’s going to be that much later in the US and Europe,” Yamauchi said. “This is based on our production schedule. The reason why the dates for the US and [European] regions are not decided yet is because their marketing is still discussing their issues. It shouldn’t be too far off from [the Japanese] date for the other regions as well.”
We hope that this indicates that the wait for the NA and EU versions of the game is a short one.
