Following the tease of Metal Gear Solid 5 in the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK, series creator Hideo Kojima has revealed a few of his ideas for the game.
“Metal Gear Solid 4 wrapped up in 2008, and the dev team took post-project time off right after that,” he says in a new Konami video interview. “But, of course, we were in a situation where we had to start planning for MGS5. So I started coming up with several ideas.
“I had several ideas for a game featuring The Boss and the Cobra Unit during the invasion of Normandy. I then handed these plans over to the team so they could take over and make the game.
Kojima says that, despite pitching ideas development team in summer 2008, younger staff members weren’t too keen going forward without his involvement. That resulted in a change of ideas and the eventual development of Metal Gear Solid: Rising – now Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
MGS5 will come though, there’s no doubt about that.
