Inafune: Devil May Cry 5 to have ‘Western touch’

Lately, a lot of Japanese developers are trying to step their game up by moving away from the standard forms of Japanese development and instead add in a Western flavor in order to appeal to more gamers. The latest developer to come out and express interest to add a more Western touch to their title is Keiji Inafune, the man behind the upcoming Devil May Cry 5 title.

Despite Capcom not having any plans to release Devil May Cry 5 in the next two years, the company is still hard at work putting together the pieces for the franchises next release. Speaking with a Spanish-based website, 3DJuegos, Inafune had the following to say:

“Devil May Cry 5 is a game that, when started development, this will change a lot in relation to the above. The reason is that, despite the franchise has some very loyal followers, their sales are not particularly high, especially overseas.

“For this reason, it is likely that in the fifth chapter will incorporate certain “Western touch” to make it more attractive to American and European players.”

Is this something you guys want to see happen to the Devil May Cry franchise or did Capcom lose your support when they decided to take its title multiplatform? It seems that the decisions made around DMC as of late are doing more to hurt the mass potential the game could have had and instead are just crippling it to the ground.

How many of you would pick up a westernized version of this game?
