It’s probably obvious that some of you either snickered at the title or decided to be offended, regardless of which way you leaned, Infinity Ward has decided to pull its F.A.G.S marketing campaign from YouTube. For those of you unaware, F.A.G.S stands for the Fight Against Grenade Spam and first hit the mainstream gamer through a clever video ad featuring World Series pitcher, Cole Hamels. While some are shocked Infinity Ward went with an ad campaign like this, I’m not too surprised. Considering the past ridiculous decisions of the company behind Modern Warfare 2, it isn’t exactly shocking to know this type of blunder occurred.
The news that the video had been pulled came from Robert Bowling’s, Community Manager of Infinity Ward, twitter feed. It’s great how Twitter has become a legitimate source for news though, right? I wonder if like the complaints for this ad, Bowling has gotten the hint that dedicated servers need to be brought back, not pulled like this ad.
Due to the video offending individuals, we haven’t included it in this article, however, I’m sure you can find it somewhere online. Was it offensive to you in any way or did you just not care?
