The alleged leader of the infamous band of hackers who have been wreaking havoc across the web, LulzSec, recently turned over several of his group to the FBI. Hector Xavier Monsegur has apparently been working with authorities for months in order to bring down his fellow hackers, according to a report on Fox News.
According to several senior ranking officials, after Monsegur pleaded guilty on Aug 15th to a dozen or more hacking-related charges, he began cooperating with authorities to help track down and arrest the rest of LulzSec. As one FBI official states, “This is devastating to the organization,” and that they are effectively “chopping off the head of LulzSec.”
