The coolest feature about Homefront is how plausible and realistic the gaming experience can be. Each battle could be won by the flip of a coin and once decided, that next step gives the same sense of reality as well. Regardless of how you fight your war, the war must be fought and I think Homefront is going to surprise quite a few people in the industry.

Crysis 2

Unfortunately for Electronic Arts and Crytek, Crysis 2 has already been leaked and pirated by thousands of PC owners around the world. However, despite that, I feel that console sales are going to do very well due to the anticipation being built up to the release as well as the significantly positive reviews the game has received thus far for its multiplayer component. Considering how many gamers game online on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, it should come as no surprise that Crysis 2 stands a good chance of selling 1.5 million copies.

Of course, it’s worth mentioning that Crytek has claimed that Crysis 2 offers the best graphics to date. Furthermore, CEO Cervat Yerli has also made mention that Crysis 2’s artificial intelligence is the best ever seen in a video game as well, which is hard to believe considering how mediocre the AI was in the original. Finally, you can expect Crysis 2 to deliver the “most complete gaming experience like no other.” They’ve certainly given a lot of hype to live up to.

Obviously one of the best things going for Crysis 2 is that it has gamers excited and that’s the first step. Now, they just have to make sure that Crysis 2 doesn’t end up like the original in being nothing more than eye candy and a mediocre experience that was pretty much over the minute you slid the disc in.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2012

Tiger Woods 2012 is shaping up to be an exact replica of the real sport and they have a very talented development team to thank for that. This year, the team behind Tiger Woods finally managed to integrate one of the world’s most famous golf courses known as The Masters at Augusta National Golf Club. This will be the first time the course is featured in Tiger Woods, so fans and developers can rejoice in a great addition to a great franchise.

EA Sports has also confirmed that there will be 16 Championship Courses playable throughout the game and that each will resemble its real life counterpart to perfection. Furthermore, EA is bringing on board a new announcement team that features the voice styling of Jim Nantz and the return of David Feherty, so we should have a good duo calling the shots.

Outside of that standard information, there isn’t much else known or released about TW12 and in fact, we’d imagine the rest of game is par for the course when it comes to features , golfers and overall entertainment factor when playing.

Shift 2 Unleashed

Finally, Electronic Arts closes out this special month of gaming with yet another sequel for the month of March. When the original Shift title released, I was hooked on the game as it offered up a nice combination of simulation gameplay and slight tint of arcade style. Having both on offer at the same time allowed for an extra added amount of excitement while racing down the track at high speeds. My only concern with Shift 2 is that the company’s developers may take it away from that hybrid experience and try to lean more one way or the other.

Some may argue that the game is more geared towards simulation style than anything else and EA is even touting it as the most realistic racer ever that is also going to redefine the simulation genre for good. Unleashed is shaping up to feature over 145 vehicles from 36 different car manufacturers that can be raced alongside 35 different tracks. EA has also introduced a ton of new features into Shift 2 which include an in-helmet cam, night time racing, and the same Autolog feature introduced within Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Obviously Shift has its hands full with a marketplace dominated by games like Gran Turismo 5 and Forza 3. Each of its main competitors delivers a uniquely different simulation engine and I believe despite claims made that they can compete with both products that EA is going to fall just shy of doing so. After all, nobody truly thinks of simulation racing when it comes to Electronic Arts.
