Mass Effect 3 multiplayer detailed in new video, will require online pass

Following its confirmation earlier this week, BioWare has released a new video offering a little more information on Mass Effect 3 multiplayer.

The video sees Casey Hudson, executive producer of the RPG-shooter franchise talk a little about the four-player co-op missions available in the hotly anticipated title.

Players will have the chance to take on the Galaxy with a number of races from the Mass Effect series – the Asari, Talarian, Human and Turian races are highlighted in the video – as well as different classes. Hudson also reveals that the better you do in the multiplayer, the more complete your ending of the single-player will be.

Away from the video, it has been confirmed that the game will use an online pass system. A code will come with new copies of the game, but second-hand buyers are likely to have to purchase a new code for $10.

Mass Effect 3 hits PlayStation 3 – Xbox 360 and PC, too – on March 9, 2012.
