Anyone waiting with anticipation upon Kojima’s big announcement in regards to Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker may end up quite disappointed depending on what you were expecting. While some of us expected a final announcement on Zone of the Enders 3 or even the potential for the next Metal Gear title, the announcement itself wasn’t quite to that level.
The announcement itself is nothing more than a collaboration with Monster Hunter (which should cause sales in Japan to sky rocket beyond already high expectations) which allows for Snake to do combat with some of the franchise’s more recognizable monsters. These include: Tigrex, Velocriprey and MH favorite, Felyne.
Though crossovers are nothing new to the MGS franchise, the announcement didn’t need to be labeled as ‘big,’ despite the impact in literal size appearing big within the game. Overall, you got us Kojima – hook, line and sinker.
Peace Walker releases in North America on June 8th — get ready for it.
