The PS Vita seems to be breaking some ground that, quite frankly, should’ve been broken a long time ago. What I’m talking about is that the digital versions of its games to be made available on PSN, will be cheaper than their physical counterparts. With the total lack of manufacturing, transportation, and storage costs, it only makes sense for this to happen.
As for the prices, Uncharted: Golden Abyss is set to sell at ¥5,980 for a physical copy, and a digital copy will run for ¥4,900. Hot Shots Golf 6 will cost ¥4,980 and ¥3,980 for physical and digital versions, respectively.
This, of course, runs the risk of angering retailers, who Sony depends on to sell the PS Vita in the first place. We’ll have to wait and see just how they respond to this news.
