PlayStation 3 stands as the lead platform for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, according to the game’s producer.
Atsushi Inaba revealed Sony’s home console to be the lead platform for the long-awaited title, and it’s all due to 2010 title Bayonetta.
Developer Platinum Games focused on the Xbox 360 version of its hack-and-slash cracker, and tasked Nex Entertainment with development of the PS3 version.
That decision didn’t turn out too well, unfortunately, but resulted in Platinum committing to PS3 as its lead platform for all titles with its own engine – starting with shooter Vanquish.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance launches sometime in 2012. You can see a video of franchise creator Hideo Kojima discuss the game, in which he also teased Metal Gear Solid 5, here.
