Resistance 3 MP demo exclusive to PlayStation+ members in Europe

According to European product manager Elliott Linger, the upcoming multiplayer demo for Resistance 3 in Europe will be exclusive to PlayStation Plus members only. This is contradictory to how it will work in North America where purchasers of Sony’s SOCOM 4 title will gain access to the demo instead.

“If you’ve checked out the US Blog, you will see that the R3 multiplayer demo will be accessible to SOCOM: Special Forces (aka SOCOM 4) purchasers in North America,” Linger advised.

“In PAL, this demo will be opened up to PlayStation Plus subscribers at exactly the same time – additional info (such as how and when) will be unveiled in due course.”

This should cause quite the outrage and concern for non-PlayStation Plus members as Resistance 3 is quite the sizable title to limit access to. It may not be as rough if the exclusiveness was for Uncharted 3, but the backlash is probably still going to be noticeable regardless.

As a follow up, there has been no indication as to when or if this multiplayer experience will open up to the public outside of PlayStation+ or SOCOM 4 purchasers in the future. We’ll keep you posted on if any of this changes.

  1. With so many great games slated for release this fall some are going to fall through the cracks and not be bought by me. I’m afraid Resistance 3 will be one of them. Unless 1 or 2 get delayed to 2012…Skyrim.
