Robin may make appearance in Batman Arkham Asylum II [UPDATE]

Holy heart failure. Batman and Robin may be teaming up in Rocksteady Studios‘ next Arkham Asylum video game if the latest IMDb casting list is to be believed.

Of course, the traditional sidekick could just be making a cameo appearance in the game, but with the addition of Robin and Two-Face to the previous game’s main cast (The Joker, Batman, Commissioner Gorden, Harley Quinn) on IMDb we’d expect these two classic Batman characters to be taking a significant role in Arkham Asylum II’s plot.

IMDb lists Robin’s actor as Vincent Martella, alongside Bruce Greenwood as Two-Face and the returning Mark Hamill, Kevin Conroy, Tom Kane, and Arleen Sorkin. For now we’ll take this grain of casting info as an unconfirmed rumour.

[UPDATE] – Warner Bros. has responded to Kotaku, with a representative stating; “To our knowledge, what you asked about is inaccurate information. We are not yet discussing details for the sequel.” So, that’s not really a no, or a yes.

Loved the first and I know Robin making an appearance will get a lot of hate but really, why? I won’t mind it one bit as long as it provides new and fun gameplay experiences. And who knows, since every game is getting some form of online these days, online co-op? :p

  2. As comic relief?

Generally alot of people don’t like Robin, so its not really great news to most people if he is going into the game or not, Arkham Asylum did good without him anyways.

  5. The kid from everybody hates chris 😀

  6. This is awesome, but I don’t see a quirky comedic character fitting in with this dark gritty theme they have. Oh well, they’ll make it work somehow.

  7. Robin won’t really work well in such a dark setting. Christopher Nolan won’t put Robin in his movies for the exact same reason.

  8. I never really liked Robin for some reason.

  9. Epic trailer.

To be honest, I don’t really care if Robin is in the game or not. The first one blew me away, and I have complete faith that Rocksteady will produce another stellar game. Cannot wait to get my hands on it!

  11. So long as they don’t cast Chris O’Donnell or base the character model off of him, I see no reason why Rocksteady wouldn’t be able to put him into the game without screwing it up. They already proved themselves capable just by making the first game a hit, why not let them try to do what so many fail at- making Robin likable and useful.

  12. i dont know what you guys are talking about robin is cool with me.

    So its a romance now??

  17. If we do have batman and robin does that mean we could possible have co-op in the game? I think done right it could really work well in adding something new to the game.

  18. well i guess they’re really trying to keep the info safe nowadays……it is a bit early for AA2 tho

i just hope they dont make robin lame :\

  19. If its jason todd, and he died beforehand, equals… fricken awesome scarecrow dreamscape!! Batman opens bodybag, ” Why didnt you save me?”

  20. My Hand just went Numb after reading this article, if robin does end up in AA2, Please RSS make it so that we can hit him and kill him.
