According to the rumor section in the latest print of UK Official PlayStation Magazine, Sony and the Santa Monica Studio are preparing a brand new adventure for Kratos, this time incorporating a multiplayer aspect to the game.
“Kratos is on his way back, with his next adventure set to feature multiplayer,” writes OPM.
Last month we reported the unofficial PlayStation magazine PSM3 stating that a new God of War title was on the way, set to release next September 2012. These reports alongside SCEA’s Santa Monica Studio job listing for a senior online programmer, all seem to be adding more kindling to the rumor fire.
Perhaps we’ll see a reveal at E3 in June, but until Sony an official announcement, file this on the rumor shelf.
I think hack & slashers/ brawlers are finally starting to delve into multiplayer. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 gave it a go. Early footage of Anarchy Reigns looks solid and now the hinted GOW multiplayer. Seems like it may become a new thing.
