Skate 3 given a release date

Electronic Arts has today announced that Skate 3 will be hitting store shelves in North America on May 11th, 2010 with a world wide release to follow on the 14th. EA’s Skate franchise has already delivered two successful iterations in the series and EA is looking to take the sport to a new level with Skate 3.

“Since the very beginning of the Skate franchise, we have captured the true essence of skateboarding, be it from the feel of nailing that perfect trick, to the feeling of just hanging out and sessioning with your friends,” says Jason DeLong, Senior Producer. “For us, SKATE 3 is the culmination of this endeavor – the most connected, accessible and social skateboarding experience yet.”

As a fan of the franchise, I can’t wait for May 11th. Is anyone else anticipating this game like I am?

  1. Played the second, Made 2 pretty sweet Skate 2 Tricks and Bails videos that where really fun to make (took a heck load of file converting) http://www.youtube.com/user/Jones0da#p/u/16/3l7me1akHrY , But i dont see how they can improve much from skate 2 so i think im going to pass.

  2. I hope this doesn’t become a yearly thing. Tony Hawk is basically out of the way, so who’s stopping Skate from becoming a milked-to-death franchise? We’ve already seen three Skate games in three years, this being the fourth one.

Yeah Tony Hawk was just milking its franchise and now they are pretty much nothing in the gaming industry, The first Skate I really enjoyed, Skate 2… Not so much chances are its just be the good old milking period

  4. @TRF – Almost positive this becomes a yearly thing. Wish it wasn’t, because we all saw what happened to the TH series.

  5. Not a big fan of skate boarding games but from what i’ve seen skate has been far better than the recent tony hawk games.
