Reuters is reporting that Sony have shipped over 1 million units of its Move controllers in the Americas, which includes both the North and Latin varieties. SCEA CEO Jack Tretton says that they can barely keep up with product demand.
Tretton said, “We had to go back and increase production twice, we’re absolutely maxed out right now.”
This shows that despite criticisms that the tech is too similar to Nintendo’s Wii, consumers are finding reason to try out Sony’s Move. Trying it out for ourselves we were impressed by the technology. To top it off, there’s some compelling software coming along, such as the Sly Collection and Killzone 3, along with updated greats such as Heavy Rain and MAG.
Hopefully this success will lead to a bright future of quality games, and not the shovelware minefield that Wii gamers have had to navigate for years.
