Last year many PS3 fans were both shocked and disappointed when JRPG hit maker Square-Enix announced that the new game in the Star Ocean series would release exclusively on the Xbox 360. To say it lightly the game bombed commercially and was given a mix bag when taking reviews into account.
Now in what seems like an act to redeem the series Square-Enix and Tri-Ace are releasing a “Director’s Cut” of Star Ocean IV for the PS3 titled Star Ocean IV: The Last Hope International, which is set to release worldwide early next year.
When reading reviews on Star Ocean IV many complaints were directed towards the horrible job done by the English voice actors and the awkward animations the characters had. Most of this has been addressed and will be fixed in SOIV’s re-release with the option to pick the superior Japanese voice acting.
Below PSUni has managed to get a hand on the trailer shown at TGS 09. Enjoy!
