With the newest entry in the Twisted Metal franchise about to ship, fans are truly excited to see life breathed back into the series. The future finally looks bright for Twisted Metal. However, David Jaffe may have crushed all those dreams of a revitalized franchise for fans as he has made it clear that they have nothing planned for the future.
In a recent interview, Jaffe stated that he envisioned a great game, but past that, not much. He said that “we weren’t nursing these illusions that we were making Call of Duty in terms of sales. If it’s a big enough hit I’m sure Sony won’t let it wither on the vine. But right now there are no plans at all.”
He also stated that they have no plans for any kind of DLC or any expansions at this time. For this generation, a game with no DLC plans will be a little different, to say the least. Will gamers even be interested in a game that has nothing to further expand on it? Sure, the game has the potential to be great fun after the initial release and for weeks to come, but how long will the community stay interested in a game with no support for any kind of DLC?
