Last month, Electronic Arts released its modern combat reboot of Medal of Honor and inside each case was a reminder that all purchasers of the product would have the opportunity to be involved with the Battlefield 3 Beta. Scheduled for next year, Battlefield 3’s Beta is probably a strong indicator that you can expect the title to hit store shelves next Holiday season or probably early 2012 — the year the world ends.

However, speaking with Eurogamer about the title, EA’s Patrick Soderlund revealed that we may end up seeing Battlefield 3 a lot sooner than we think.

“I’m very happy with what we have and I’m really excited about showing it to the world because we have something that is going to be very, very cool.”

When asked we’d see it, Soderlund added: “You’ll see. You’ll know probably sooner than I will. You are going to be able to see it in the not too distant future. The marketing guys would kill me if I told you when.”

If Battlefield 3 is truly coming in the not too distant future, that may mean we might see an annual release of the franchise for the first time. Despite that, it’s interesting to know that the game is going in a direction that should be “very, very cool” to us. Of course, this is just standard marketing and PR, but it’s still interesting none-the-less.

What would you classify as a very cool addition to Battlefield 3?

  1. meh, i tried battlefield 2.5, and it was OK, at best, but not any better from the disaster that was battlefield 2 IMO. and i coubt BC3 is going to be that uch of a drastic improvement, but like always i will at least buy into to see, before giving a final judgment.

  2. How was BF2 a disaster? It’s better than anything they’ve released since.

  3. BFBC2 was a very good game IMO, a lot more fun to play than Mw2, so i would really like to see no drastic changes made to the game.

  4. because it did nothing to separate itself from the masses, the experience was very bland overall. campaign was actually more exciting than the multi player (surprisingly) which isn’t saying much, as it tooo became a snore fest

whoever says the battlefield games are bad, its just because they are gay faggets who play COD and camp in corners and use all of the cheapest weapons. BF games are so much realistic then all of those gay COD games. so you can go suck a fat stubby chode
