As HD content becomes more available, the use of larger disc space is needed. Thanks to a forum poster via Beyond3d, we have a look at the new PlayStation Vita memory cards. The memory card sizes range from 4 gigabytes to 32 gigabytes. As technology improves over the next few years, expect to see streaming become more available through digital download.

The PS Vita was announced during the Sony E3 2011 press conference, with the WiFi version listed for $249 in U.S. (€249 for Europe). Gamers looking to pick up the 3G version (partnered with AT&T), Sony revealed a $299 unit for the U.S., €299 in Europe.

The PlayStation Vita is slated to release worldwide fiscal year 2011. Stay tuned for more information.

  1. well, atualy…
contrary to youre statement, an hd game does not require any more disc space as a sub-hd resolution game,
what did hapen whit games getting bigger is that in hd resolution such as 1080p and 8x aa or more, the textures and wire-frame become more obvious so most dewelopers use more space of a platforms format to make better textures and more detailed objects,
but not all dewelopers resort to hat (coung! cougn! biovare)

  2. i gues im importing mine yet again,
the euro to dolar excange rate makes no sence to me,
but at leased this way i can get cheper games
(@informant, its cuz biovare releases a game ewery year, they probably rush-dewelop these games, their not that lasy…)

      you probably ment lazy,
no, i beliewe they made a great franchise(ME), aldow i “dislike” DA and others
but its just sadd when you hawe such a great story and caracters, but on the other side such badd desing and qa that it hurts the entire game
dont get me wrong i like me(at leased the 2nd one)
but the way 2 frequent loading times, the planet scaning, the hacking, the runing around the entire f-ing galaxy for some extra credits
thats just bs, and a waste of polygons

The PSVita is looking really promising and awesome, but I still haven’t heard much about how files from our computers will be transferred to it and how a USB cord connects to it, so I’m wondering if Sony’s going to make it difficult to transfer files from our computers in the hopes of making it difficult to hack since now they’re so concerned about people hacking their hardware due to piracy. Then people will get all disappointed even after all the good stuff announced for it. Please don’t mess this up Sony.
