When it comes to developing for the PlayStation 3, developers always have to have Uncharted 2 in the back of their mind when it comes to quality and the crowning achievement that the console has to offer. After all, Official PlayStation Magazine revealed Uncharted 2 as the greatest PlayStation game ever ahead of such classics as God of War and Final Fantasy VII. However, with inFamous 2 in development, Sucker Punch studios is gunning for the crown and they’d feel like ‘fools’ if they weren’t.

Lead designer on inFamous 2, Darren Bridges, was questioned about the quality of Uncharted 2 and whether or not inFamous 2 was aiming for that type of quality and he had the following to say:

“That would be fantastic. It’s a heck of a high bar. That’s a high calling, but we’d be fools to say, ‘Nah, we’re going for ten per cent less.'”

It’s great to know that the team is focused on delivering the highest quality possible as the original inFamous was definitely one of my favorite games this generation thus far. I can’t wait to finally get my hands on it come 2011 and I’m sure I’m not alone on that one.

  1. Hell yes. Infamous was ACE. All they need to do is make traversing a little bit faster and that’s it. Can’t wait for this game! When was it due for?

  2. I always thought inFAMOUS was better than the Uncharted series.

  3. I loved inFAMOUS and it has probably been my most anticipated game since Shenmue II and Baten Kaitos. I was a bit let down because it wasn’t all I thought it would be (which is what UC2 turned out to be) so after seeing the trailers for inFAMOUS 2 I am probably more hyped for that game than the first because of how awesome the first one was and getting even better.

  4. Loved the first one! Will be getting number 2 aswell!

  5. inFamous is definitly one of the best games I’ve played this gen thus far.. and it seems 2 will be even more electrifying.
