The quickly turned famous Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has once again stepped into the limelight of his life to declare a prediction of more price cuts in the Nostradamus fashion that we’ve grown accustomed to. Pachter believes that both Microsoft and Sony have price cuts on the horizon in order to help surge the gaming industry to the next level for this generation.
“We expect another price cut for both systems some time this year (around summer), but note that because its manufacturing costs are lower, Microsoft has the ability to lower price as early as March or April,” the analyst said in a research note.
“At a minimum, we anticipate the introduction of a more feature-packed Xbox 360 in early 2010 (likely with a 250Gb hard drive) at the same $299 price point, and think that Microsoft will cut price early in the year only if it begins to lose significant market share to Sony.”
This would make sense considering the recent increase in sales production of Sony’s PlayStation 3 as the console giant has done nothing but gain on its competitor over the last four to five months. However, if Sony does plan on another price cut, it better not drag it out to the last possible moment if the company plans to keep momentum.
To be honest, I’d like to see Sony beat Microsoft to the punch just to see what type of reaction would occur from the opposing camp.
i still don’t think cony is in a position to do so, i mean even with he considerable catch up that’s its made, Microsoft seems to have enough money to do this. but hopefully im wrong and Sony pulls something out of their sleeves

lol where does this guy get this stuf lol? microsoft said that they wouldnt release the 250 HDD without a big game bundle (like the mw2 one) so i doubt this guys logic. but of coarse there are going to be price cuts there have been 4 already in the 4 years this gen so undoubtably ther is going to be one this year but probly not till towards the end of the year.

The Patcher was making a prediction, so us PS3 users can’t expect anything at the moment. I guess we just have to wait and see what is really going to come around.
