Deus Ex developed on all platforms

One of the bigger questions high profile multiplatform titles are always facing is which console development should lead on. However, in the case of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the answer is much simpler — all of them. Apparently, the development team understands the difficulties of porting a title and realized it would be much easier to just develop across all platforms simultaneously.

Speaking with VG247, David Anfossi, the producer on the project revealed the development process that the team decided on early in the project.

“The experience will be the same on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. The same mechanics – everything is the same.” He continued, “I used to work on previous games where we had lead platforms, and when we were close to the release date, we had to do a port. And believe me, you don’t want to do that. For Deus Ex, we decided to work on all platforms parallel to give players the same experience.”

This is solid news for all gamers as it should ensure the best quality for the title on each platform. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is scheduled for release in early 2011.

  1. Have I been living under a rock??? Deus Ex The Conspiracy was the last great FPS games I ever played. DE Invisible war was great too. This is the first I hear about a sequel. After all these mediocre shooters that have been released this generation, I get hit with this bomb. Hearing that it will be made on each platform is great news. I can’t wait to play it(dusts off copy Deus Ex and inserts disc into ps2).

  2. How often do we see a developer working on all versions simultaneously? I commend the studio behind this game.
