Mega Man Universe announced

This morning, Capcom officially announced the upcoming release of Mega Man Universe which is expected to evolve the franchise in a new direction. As with most titles upon announcement, not much is known about MMU, however, the officially released trailer does give off some hints as to what to expect.

The trailer shows off Mega Man having the ability to transform into other popular Capcom characters from other franchises such as Street Fighter. After not being able to take care of his enemies as expected, Mega Man transforms into Ryu and performs a Haduken in order to pulverize some foes. Whether or not this is a confirmed element of the game is unknown, but I’d bet it’s definitely something to consider.

“We are thrilled to finally be able to announce Mega Man Universe,” said Kenji Inafune, Head of Research and Development Management for Capcom Entertainment. “This game will break the mold and challenge the conventional wisdom of what a Mega Man game can be. When fans finally get to see it, I believe they’ll envision their most far-out Mega Man dreams coming true.”
