It’s always great when a developer lets “slip” a list of upcoming titles that the team at the studio is working on. Perhaps this isn’t exactly a slip from Codemasters but Senior VP of Production Jamie MacDonald has confirmed that several sequels to popular franchises are in the works and we should expect announcements in the near future.

Speaking with Develop Online, MacDonald reconfirms that not only is Colin McRae: Dirt 3 being worked on, but also lets it be known that the team is working on a sequel for Operation Flashpoint and Grid.

“In Southam it’s full steam ahead with the next iteration in our Flashpoint series,” states MacDonald, “as well as the next Dirt and Grid. It’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out.”

While Grid and Dirt were both fantastic racers in their own regard, it’s hard to see Flashpoint continuing to do well in a generation of gaming dominated by Call of Duty and Halo in the shooting genre. Is anyone here really excited for another installment into that franchise?
