Deep Silver has released a new PlayStation 3 box art for Dead Island featuring the uncensored hanged man’s logo.

In March, the ESRB had Deep Silver rework the Dead Island logo from a dead body hanging from a tree to a standing zombie. The cover art is for the European release, so the censorship may only apply to the U.S.

Yesterday, we posted a 20 minute gameplay video for Dead Island giving players a in-depth look at the game’s car explosions, open-world exploring, and brain-hungry zombies. The game also supports four player co-op, weapon crafting, and vehicles in a heavily interactive open sandbox world.

Dead Island is scheduled to release later this year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
