It wouldn’t be a Sony handheld without a new WipEout game in its library, so prospective Vita owners can of course look forward to WipEout 2048. In what seems to be a bit of extra effort on the story front for a franchise that’s usually bare-boned in that area, the game takes place at the beginning of the combat hovercraft craze that will apparently sweep the nation in the somewhat-distant future.

So long as the game plays as buttery-smooth as the previous entries, while also pumping those sweet techno tunes through my earholes, I don’t really care about any of that. All that matters is that the game is coming along nicely, as this new trailer out of Gamescom shows.
