Ninja Theory recently had the opportunity to respond to reader questions over at VG247 and as expected someone questioned exactly what would have taken place had the studio developed Heavenly Sword 2. Unfortunately for fans of Heavenly Sword, infamous Tameem Antoniades had one idea for the game where Nariko would have to play through Hell while Kai was on Earth trying to save her soul as well.

Original idea? Absolutely! Fortunately for the rest of us, Sony owns the IP to the game and probably would have put the red light up on that idea.

“I had this idea that you would play Nariko who finds herself trapped in Hell by the spirit of the sword,” said Antoniades.

“Kai would be playable in the real world and would communicate with Nariko and try and help rescue her soul.”

If you’re a fan of Heavenly Sword, is this the type of idea and game you’d like to see if a sequel were ever made or have you gotten enough of this style of play through games like Dante’s Inferno or even Darksiders to an extent?
