James Bond 007: Blood Stone Debut Trailer

James Bond’s last foray into the video game universe was a mediocre experience and one that continued the downward trend of Bond titles since the release of GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64. With Activision announcing the existence of James Bond 007: Blood Stone, it’s hard to imagine or expect anything other than another sub-par title you can pick up from the bargain bin almost immediately.

Surprisingly enough the trailer does look action-packed and a viable solution in the Bond franchise that fans have been waiting for, however, trailers are created to give off that impression. Regardless, check the trailer out below.

  1. I wouldn’t call it “downward trend” all the time. Nightfire and Everything or Nothing are the exceptions in the “downward trend”. These two games are really good but they do miss something in both cases though (Everything or Nothing is missing a solid competitive multiplayer and Nightfire is missing, well, maybe a longer campaign). I hope Activision will bring health packs/armor, a first person cover system instead of a third person one or they could simply bring us no cover system at all (that’s one of the things that make Goldeneye so great), fun multiplayer without personal loadouts (traditional Bond multiplayer with picking up weapons and armor from the ground), ofc the multiplayer should be both offline and online unlike in Quantum of Solace and finally they should give us lots of nice gadget and more of a stealthy Bond feel. Except for that maybe bots in the offline multiplayer and some kind of co-op would be nice.
But hey it’s Activision, I shouldn’t expect too much. Maybe they will learn from their mistakes just like EA did twice (Nightfire and Everything or Nothing).

  2. I’m unimpressed. The gameplay looks like Splinter Cell and it just doesn’t look great. I see myself possibly renting this down the road, but that’s it.

  3. looks kinda bad. 007 Nightfire will probably remain my favorite Bond game for ever i guess….
