Mafia II is “worthy of Scorsese himself”

Just to help out the movie-challenged, Martin Scorsese is the legendary director of such great movies as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino and the Academy Award Winning, The Departed.

In the latest issue of XBW Magazine there is a preview for 2K’s upcoming title Mafia II. Though the previewer claims that the game itself is “bloody brilliant,” he also pegs the size of Mafia II as 33% the size of Grand Theft Auto IV. Despite this not being that large of a world to explore in, the game isn’t trying to revolutionize sandbox gaming.

“Mafia II isn’t the revelation in sandboxers that some were perhaps expecting. The good news, though, is this: it’s bloody brilliant.

“It looks a million bucks, plays well and – if the spanking first game is any indication – will combine genuinely memorable missions with a thrilling Mafia yarn worthy of Scorsese himself.”

A lot of readers out there have been anticipating this title and from what I can gather, it seems as though you won’t be disappointed. However, the fact the game world is so small may be something to take issue with. Regardless, if you’re into the Mafia and into gaming, there is a strong chance you’ll come away happy you spent your $60 on this one.

  4. i hope Scorcese doesn’t read this article, or else he would want to make another one of those video games to bad movie. Full Respect to Scorcese

  5. well as long as they map is densly populated with stuff to do a small map wont hinder the game. i will have to wait and see if the game is as great as they say.
