Stuart Black leaving Codemasters

Codemasters has today confirmed the resignation of Stuart Black and that the man behind the popular first-person shooter, Black, will be leaving the team in October. As some of you may know, Stuart Black is also currently working on his latest project Bodycount, but Codemasters assures gamers that this will not be interrupted by his departure.

“Having created a great vision and direction for Bodycount, Stuart has decided to move on after three years with us,” said a Codemasters representative. “He will see out his design role until October and, through the transition period, will continue to work with the talented development team that will take the game through to completion.”

The reasoning behind Black leaving the company is unknown, but many are pointing to a potential internal bust-up. As of now, Black hasn’t revealed which company he plans on working for next, but we’re sure whatever he decides to do will probably result in a kick-ass game for the rest of us.

That blows. At least now I know the studio behind Black is doing Bodycount. Guess who’s getting Bodycount now?
