Black Ops Celebrates Presidents Day

Occasionally, developers feel generous during holiday weekends. With some double XP here, some free content there, holiday weekends are usually a way for developers to spike the interest in their game back up. In light of Presidents Day, Treyarch is doing just that. While there is no free content or double XP this go around, this addition will undoubtedly excite many Black Ops gamers who have invested little time into the game’s campaign.

Starting Saturday and ending Monday, all versions of Black Ops will gain access to the zombie map “Five”. This map, featuring John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Fidel Castro, and McNamara, takes place in the Pentagon and is quite a challenging map if you’re not used to it, but also plenty of fun. Even better, you get to hear humorous remarks from some of the bigger names in history (J.F.K and Castro), however odd and unorthodox it may be. Previously, the zombie map was only available to gamers who beat the campaign mode, something many Call of Duty gamers no longer have interest in. It’s almost a given that gamers who fall in love with “Five” during the next couple of days will be pushing their way through the story mode once the map is no longer available. In addition, all Black Ops gamers will gain access to the Dead Ops Arcade; a top down shooter in which you fight endless waves of zombies.

Often, developers pick a random holiday and decide to be generous. However, from time to time their holiday choice will actually make some sense, like in this instance. If your someone who has yet to beat Black Ops’ Arcade mode, and would like to take the role of various political figures, take advantage of this weekend and get to slaying those zombies!

Side note: If, during the next couple of days, you come to like Dead Ops Arcade, never fear! Unlocking it is actually quite simple. Use the video below for a tutorial on how to do it:

    “oh…….”

    • I figured that would be some of the general response. I myself was hoping the same when I found the news elsewhere.

  2. why not just put in the cheat for the map? they could have done somthing better

  3. Given that anyone could just enter “3arc Unlock” into the computer in the title screen room after alternating pressing L2 and R2 to get out of the chair… This is actually a really lame promotion.

  4. Not only that, but it’s kind of sad that they are promoting something readily available after beating the campaign because people won’t play it. People were pretty hard on MAG for not having a campaign, but were they truly wrong?
