Portal 2, successor to the critically claimed “Portal”, has been delayed frequently over the course of the last year. Finally, Valve’s Managing Director Gabe Newell says that Portal 2 is finished, and will be hitting store shelves in April.
In a video conference call, Newell said that “We just finished Portal 2”, finally giving Portal fans the sigh of relief they’ve been waiting for. Expectations for the game are certainly high, especially due to the number of delays fans have been forced to endure.
“It’s pretty much put to bed and we’re just waiting for final approvals and to get the discs manufactured.”
Many Half-Life fans have been hoping that, come this moment, a Half-Life: Episode 3 would be announced, but so far there is no word on the game. In fact, Newell mentioned that their next title will be named Dota 2, a fantasy RTS that is said to release later this year. Of course, knowing Valve that means in approximately two years from now.
Portal 2 will be available in stores for the PS3, 360, PC, and Mac on April 18 (NA), April 21 (AUS), and April 22 (EU).
