Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi recently stated in an interview that Gran Turismo 5 is roughly 90% complete as of this date. However, anyone who has been following this ongoing tragedy from the start may take notice that Yamauchi has stated this exact same thing in the past as well as stating that the game is finished enough to release.

Which statements are true? Who knows — all we know is that it’s time for Polyphony Digital to stop talking and start delivering as gamers have been waiting far too long for this installment into the franchise.

Speaking with Inside Line, Yamauchi states “Gran Turismo 5 is about 90 percent finished. There are currently around 140 people working on the project.”

While it’s great to receive repetitive tidbits of information, it’s about high time something new is shown off as well. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled with what GT has offered in the past, but I’m ready to hit the track running already. Obviously the Fall can’t get here soon enough.
