According to Day 1 Studios, gamers no longer have to turn to the likes of Dead Space or Silent Hill in order to be scared the most through the survival horror experience. In fact, the developers behind the upcoming sequel F.E.A.R 3 believe that their title will be able to hold its ground against any horror experience to date.
This shouldn’t quite come as a surprise as most studios do label their games as the next coming, but the F.E.A.R franchise isn’t exactly a slouch in the scare factor landscaping. In a recent interview with CVG, Day 1’s Parker Hamilton discussed exactly how the team’s upcoming title stacks up against the competition.
“Yes. We indeed do believe F.E.A.R. 3 will continue carrying on the franchise’s tradition of scaring the pants off players in unsettling atmospheres and through unpredictable events.
“Whether playing co-operatively with a friend or alone in the dark by themselves, the generative system will keep the players on the edge of their seats.”
Co-operatively with a friend sounds quite appealing if the claims happen to be true. How do you guys play your horror games — with a friend or alone? I always say, buddy up!
I’ll have to play through the first two. They do look “shit-your-pants” scary.
@ TRF The first one was horrible. Horrible graphics, the buildings all looked the same. I literally played for twenty minutes, put it back in the case and never touched it again. FEAR 2 was alright though.
I have no problem with FEAR except for the control scheme. If they want to compete, they need to get that fixed.
I propose a universal control scheme that FPSs should follow, kind of like an MLA for gaming 😀
nice post. thanks.
