Sony shines at Gamescom; Move slaps Kinect

Now that Gamescom is officially wrapped up, it’s time to look back at the event and take note of exactly how much ass Sony kicked at the conference. Not only did Sony acquire a port and release of Mass Effect 2 from BioWare, but they also managed to gain a ton of bonus content which will feature an exclusive introduction into the world of Mass Effect.

Furthermore, PlayStation 3 owners got their first glimpse and announcement of Resistance 3, which has everyone excited for Insomniac’s redemption on the franchise they felt disappointed fans with the second installment. Also, continuing its strong relationship with Sony, IG also announced a 4-player coop title within the Ratchet & Clank universe entitled, All 4 One.

Trailers were also released for Killzone 3, inFamous 2 and LittleBigPlanet 2, but no title shined more-so than Gran Turismo 5 as it took home Best of Show honors as Sony wiped the floor clean with the competition, but most important with Kinect.

cant wait for everything sony showed at gamescom this year. Better watch out Microsoft, Sony is rising from the depths badum badum lol

  2. i wonder when all the stupid people will wake up and understand that its freakin apple and oranges and both will offer different experiences. only thing sony has done is improved the wii. thats great move along. now when they the new eye come out with kinect capabilities plus the move then its game over other than that, move along nothing to see here. i will play with the move until november then i’ll be kinecting. when im tired then i will sit down and not move with the move. ahh the joy of not being a retarded fanboy that can’t get his head out of a companies ass.

  3. Lol — And the only thing Microsoft has done is improved the Eye Toy… What’s your point?

Sony has been working on Move since early in the PlayStation 2’s lifespan…It’s not created as an “improved Wii.” Sony was building the tech before anyone even knew the Wii existed.

  4. as a huge resistance fan i dont see resistance 2 as a dissapointment, it improved upon everything from the last game and not to mention it has some of the sickest weapons in videogames
if anything, i missed the documentary stiled presentation of the story that the first resistance and resistance retrobution had

  5. Sorry but “i’ll be kinecting” made me laugh.

  6. It’s really been a roller coaster week for Sony. E3 was nothing compared to this.

  7. I dont see how resistance 2 was a dissapointment they removed some good things like dark theme, weapon wheel and the commentary story telling but i dont think that is enough to say resistance needs to be ‘redeemed’

  8. @ 2 – Kinect won’t make you tired. If you’re any sort of gamer, you’ll get bored long before you get tired.

I’ve yet to see Kinect do a single thing that wasn’t already done on EyeToy and PS2.

In fact, I’ve yet to see any non-staged (i.e. faked) footage of Kinect actually working well with anything other than basic EyeToy style games.
