It’s hard to imagine a world where Kane & Lynch are put on the back burner and the gaming industry is left to depression without the dynamic duo. Thankfully, Ian Livingstone, President at Eidos has assured gamers through Eurogamer that Kane & Lynch aren’t going anywhere despite how terrible the first two installments have been — rejoice.
If you’re sitting there scratching your head trying to figure out how Kane & Lynch could continue to be a viable business strategy, I don’t have any answers for you. However, Livingstone believes that K&L are a solid brand with the potential to bring in revenue worth investing towards.
“We haven’t made any announcements about Kane & Lynch going forward, but we all know that Kane and Lynch are two amazing characters who have a lot of brand equity,” Livingstone told the site.
“Kane & Lynch 2 clearly had a Marmite effect on people.
“You either loved it or hated it. Some people liked the juddering camera, home video style. Others absolutely hated it. Some loved the characters. Some didn’t like the characters.
“But it’s artistic, thrill-a-minute instant action stuff. I thought it was a great game, but I can understand people might not have liked it.”
I’m not too sure how to feel about this — obviously if you don’t support or like the franchise, you don’t have to buy it, but it just feels like these resources could go towards getting out a new Hitman game to the masses or something to that effect.
How many of you would purchase a new Kane & Lynch title?
Jesus, one more? Why try to make a franchise out of two sub-par, unsuccessful, lame games?
Didn’t like the first one. Second was even worse. Yeah, I’ll be skipping the rest of this lousy series.
wow,
whats next?
army of two 3?
yaris 2?
big rigs 2?
Hey, its their game franchise. They can do whatever they want to do with the series even if people do not like Kane & Lynch. I will keep supporting the franchise.
