Sony’s The Agency Delayed Further

If you were excitedly awaiting the release of The Agency in early 2011, you might as well start breathing again. As of today, The Agency has been pushed into the second half of 2011, and to be honest, I don’t expect to see it on retail shelves in 2011 at all.

The Agency, once expected as a megaton PlayStation 3 release, has been nothing more than disappointment after disappointment as gamers have continued to wait for this Spy Vs. Spy action title to hit the market. Now that the game has been given another delay, it’s hard to imagine it could ever deliver on the anticipation it was originally given.

Furthermore, Sony Online Entertainment, the developers behind the title, also developed the online MMO Free Realms, which was supposed to be a PC and PS3 release. However, to this day, the PlayStation 3 release remains in storage and there is no date for its release either.

Considering the last time The Agency was shown off in public as a playable demo was in the Summer of 2009, I’d say that there is slim hope that this game becomes a reality. Hopefully, not too many people are disappointed by all of this in general and can continue to enjoy great titles like LittleBigPlanet 2 upon release instead. After all, 2011 is shaping up to be a great year for games that do exist.

So this isn’t Agent? Or did it get a name change. Anyways their are too many games to buy in 2011 if you are a PS3 owner, so I am not upset to let it finish for Sony’s holiday/Spring 2012 lineup.

    • Agent is an entirely different game being developed by Rockstar, which we know zilch about.
