Today the creative director behind Resistance 3 made a guest appearance on the Official PlayStation Blog in order to reveal some plot details for the upcoming sequel and to show off some sexy concept art for the game as well. As you can imagine, the content contained below will include spoilers, so if you don’t want to have anything revealed for you just yet, please do not continue reading.
First of all, the main protagonist in Resistance 3 is Joseph Capelli, the Sentinel who (HUGE RESISTANCE 2 SPOILERS HERE… if you haven’t played it yet, go buy a Greatest Hits copy now!) was forced to kill Nathan Hale at the end of R2. Capelli was dishonorably discharged, and four years later is living in hiding with his wife, Susan, and son, Jack, along with other survivors in the town of Haven, Oklahoma. He’s given up fighting, and is now just trying to hide and survive the Chimeran death squads that roam the planet. But when Dr. Malikov arrives with an opportunity to deliver a blow to the Chimera, Capelli embarks on a road trip to New York City. Resistance 3 is a tale of Capelli’s heroic journey across the country as he encounters the remnants of humanity left in the aftermath of the brutal invasion.
It’s good to see that Resistance 3 is going to continue the fight in chronological order and hopefully it will right the wrongs that Resistance 2 failed to deliver at retail. You can check below for some great concept art as well.
Sounds like a great story, like how it took off right where the last had ended. Can’t wait to play it.

You’re joking right? The title is “New Resistance 3 Details Emerge.” — What do you expect the content of the article to contain? Old information? If that wasn’t enough, it’s even restated in the opening paragraph that spoilers are ahead. Don’t know how much clearer to make it.
This pisses me off. I was seriously hoping for something a bit deeper (like meeting the real Chimera and not the hybrids, but who knows maybe that will still happen), and I dang sure don’t want to play as Capelli. Sure he was a lot cooler at the end of the game than at the beginning, but Nathan Hale was the shit. In plus, how the hell can a freaking side arm pistol kill that beast? You know how many times he got shot? Guns didn’t affect Daedalus, and Hale surpassed him. I’m still going to get this game, but it seems like they are trying to drag on the series instead of taking it to the next level.
