Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Announced

Unexpectedly, Entertainment Weekly has blown the lid off of the upcoming Uncharted sequel now known as Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deceit. Many speculated that Sony’s reveal on December 12th would be the next iteration in the Nathan Drake saga, but apparently that couldn’t be further from the truth.

According to EW, the theme of deceit will play a large role in the game as Drake deceives others and is deceived himself. Sadly, it sounds as though a lot of the deception is going to take place between himself and fan favorite, Victor Sullivan. We’re hoping this isn’t an end to their relationship, but we’ll see. It’s also said that Nathan Drake’s true history and identity may be questioned and that he isn’t who we all believed him to be.

The story takes Drake to the Arabian Peninsula in search of a legendary lost city. Despite taking place in the desert, you can imagine that Naughty Dog has done everything in its power to prevent the game from just being sand blowing everywhere. So, don’t get too worried about that.

Amy Hennig explained that the inspiration of the story came from the studios desire to challenge themselves with elements that aren’t as easy to implement such as sand, fire, and water.

Says Hennig: “When we first came up with the idea of sand, you see everyone’s eyes light up here and go, ‘Yeah, that’s going to be really hard — let’s do it!’” Adds Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells: “We’re a bunch of nerds. We just look forsomething that will be a technical, artistic challenge, and allowed us to push into an area of the world and history we’ve never tapped into before.”

OMG!!!!!!!! I have been looking forward to this game since UC2! Almost lvl 60 in the multiplayer and they’re making it better=0 I might consider purchasing a 3D TV after learning that is going to run in stereoscopic 3D. The premise sounds amazing and those guys and gals over at Naughty Dog always outdo themselves. Happy
