Sledgehammer games, the developer formed by to former Infinity Ward executives, seems to be the developer to produce the next installment to the Call of Duty series.
This was confirmed upon the discovery of a job listing for a community manager position in Sledgehammer Games, reading as follows:
Would you like the chance to build and drive the studio community management effort for Sledgehammer and the FPS Call of Duty game we are currently working on?
It was rumored that Sledgehammer games would be creating a new type of Call of Duty title, focused on a third person, action-adverture style. Granted the job listing specifically states the Call of Duty title as an FPS, it’s safe to assume that approach is no longer being taken, at least for the time being.
This will be Sledgehammer Games’ first attempt at Call of Duty, meaning we’ll probably see a few new things in this next installment. Does Sledgehammer Games’ have what it takes to compete with seasoned Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward and Treyarch?
Sledegehammer has some of the Visceral guys, right? Hopefully the game will be good.
