Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One Co-Op Trailer

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One is the next installment to the critically acclaimed Ratchet & Clank series, which stems back to the early years of the last generation PlayStation 2.  Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One is set to release sometime this Fall.

Below is the latest Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Co-Op trailer. You can find my commentary below the video.

Overall, this trailer is doing the game justice.  I’m not a huge fan of the series, but I know why so many gamers like it.  A worry of mine concerning the series is that, as they enter the next generation more and more, they will begin to lose what made them special last generation.  In other words, I feared that they would put too much emphasis on their new capabilities with the console, and henceforth put less effort into the key aspects of the game.  Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

It seems to me that Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One will offer more gameplay mechanics than previous titles.  There was one instance (at around 0:52) that they were using a boat to escape from some large creature.  Though that’s not a mechanic new to the gaming world, it isn’t something we’ve seen too much of in Ratchet & Clank.

I also hope that Inscomniac hits home with the cooperative gameplay.  Though the series has always been a primarily single player one, it’d be great for them to implement things for the cooperative mode that require team work to complete.  That not only makes for more interesting gameplay, but higher reply value.
