Yesterday, we reported how a couple of forum members at NeoGAF noticed on JeuxVideo’s website that I Am Alive from Ubisoft was potentially being released as a digital download only. However, upon hearing the news for the first time, Ubisoft’s Jade Raymond was taken aback by the news and had no idea what was even going on.
Unfortunately, it seems a lack of proper translation seems to be the culprit as JeuxVideo has issued a slight apology for the confusion and has rectified the situation on its website.
“Although our responsibility in this story is zero, we still want to apologise for the misunderstanding arisen from this innocent trait of humor.”
I guess the silver lining is without a doubt the fact that people were actually starting to care about I Am Alive again after its long absence. Perhaps this will be a cause of Ubisoft to start dropping more information about the title — if not, expect it to be drowned back into the unknown.
Vaporware at it’s finest.
